Healthy Feets tips

Tip 1: Selection of shoes that fits well.
The first measures to be undertaken for preventive foot care is the selection of shoes, socks and stockings that fit well.  Wear the appropriate size footwear. Your toes should be able to wriggle comfortably in the shoes that you wear. Women are four times more likely to develop foot problems, due in part to the use of high heels, so avoid wearing them as much as possible or remove them at every opportunity to prevent sore feet. Put feet up whenever possible to keep the blood flowing and wriggle toes for up to 5 minutes, much like toe crunches. Footwear should be such that the feet are relaxed and have adequate ventilation that will prevent development of fungal infections.

Tip 2: Check your feet daily.
Check your feet daily with a 30-sec inspection to rule out any redness, discoloration, cracks, or other abnormalities. Never try to remove a corn, ingrown toenail or callus by yourself. Self-surgery gone wrong can be costly in terms of health and finances.

Tip 3: Wash feet daily.
Wash feet daily, rinse and dry thoroughly, especially between the toes. Remove rough skin gently by first soaking feet in warm water then gently scrubbing with a small towel or loofah, but scratch it if you are diabetic and you have a wound in your foot, soaking will make it worse. Indulge in feet massage as regularly as possible, and have a pedicure about once a week to keep toes pretty but make sure the implements used are clean.

Tip 4: Do not ignore pain.
Do not ignore pain. Identify the cause and eliminate it. If the pain persists, it is essential to consult your doctor for an adequate evaluation. Any disorder that affects feet extreme appendages can throw life out of gear considerably. Keep the area between the toes dry and check for peeling skin or unnatural moistness on a daily basis.

Tip 5: Trim your nails.
Trim your nails if necessary. Especially your big  toe. File them carefully so that they are smooth. Cutting nails should be undertaken after a bath or after soaking feet for some time to ease the process. Smooth the nail edges with the smoothing side of the nail file. Avoid digging out and cutting at corners; this could result to ingrown toe nails.

Tip 6: Massage your feet with petroleum jelly.
Massage your feet with petroleum jelly each night before bed and slip on a pair of thin socks to sleep in. The jelly provides a barrier for the skin, locking moisture in, and the socks protect your sheets from the jelly Vaseline and keep it from rubbing off.

Tip 7: Consult your physician before using any foot care products.

There are many foot care products, especially for athlete’s foot, tendinitis and calluses. For the last two, consult your physician before purchasing. In general, chemical preparations for the removal of calluses are not recommended.

Tip 8: Purchase socks that absorb sweat.
Purchase socks that absorb sweat away from the feet to keep from developing sores as well as fungal growth (athlete’s foot) and change socks every day. Foot powder can also be used to minimize sweating. Avoid hot or cold for your feet, and avoid the use of electric blankets and heating pads which may burn your feet inadvertently.

Tip 9: Regular or daily exercise.

Regular or daily exercise should also have a component of foot exercises. The 52 bones of a pair of feet are 25% of the body’s total number of bones. Together with 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles of each foot, the feet absorb about five times the body weight in pressure every day.

Tip 10: General tips.
1.    Avoid exposing feet to extremes of temperature.
2.    If sitting for long periods of time, ensure that you move your feet and ankles frequently so as to keep the circulation active.

Healthy hair tips

Tip 1: A well-balanced diet:
A well-balanced diet is the best way to keep your hair healthy and strong. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, nuts, brown rice, beans and pulses, and you’ll have tresses in top condition in no time.

Tip 2: Look After Your Hair.
Don't brush your hair when it is sopping wet, it's more likely to break and result in split ends. Don't use elastic bands or very tight hair bands when you put your hair up (clips and grips are less likely to split the hair shaft) and avoid completely drying your hair when using a hair dryer. Try and leave your hair slightly damp.

Tip 3: Find a shampoo that lathers less.
Shampoos that lather too much are often overloaded with moisturizing products, which can leave build-up in your hair, making it look and feel dirtier quicker. So opt for a sulfate-free formula.

Tip 4: Drop the towel.
Keeping wet strands wrapped in a towel for a half-hour as you do your make-up will just cause frizz! The roughness of the cotton forces your hair cuticles open, making them more likely to go every-which-way. Instead, squeeze out excess water as soon as you’re out of the shower, then let your hair air-dry for five or ten minutes before blow-drying

Tip 5: Shield your locks from harsh shower water
The water you wash your hair with may contain chlorine, minerals; even rust from old pipes, all these things can enter the cuticle of your hair and alter your hair color.

Tip 6: Avoid smoking.
Eliminate smoking, caffeine and fizzy drinks from your life – it will make your hair grow stronger and longer.

Tip 7. Use household ingredients
  1. Mix one egg with a small amount of shampoo, apply to your hair for five minutes, and rinse well. This “shampoo omelet” helps to enhance the protein in your hair.
  2.  Mix 2 ounces olive oil and 2 ounces aloe vera gel with 6 drops each of rosemary and sandalwood essential oils. Olive oil is an emollient, aloe hydrates, and rosemary adds body and softness.
  3. Substitute condensed milk for your regular conditioner. The protein provides an extra-special shine.
  4. For soft, natural highlights squeeze some lemon juice on your hair before heading into the sun.
  5. Bathe your hair in botanical oils.
  6. Mix a few drops of sandalwood oil.

Tip 8: Wrap—don’t clamp—your hair for quick curls.
Wrap—don’t clamp—your hair for quick curls. When using a curling iron, you don’t need to fasten your locks to the barrel. Wrap sections around the iron and hold in place for about 10 seconds to score the same soft, sexy curl

Tip 9: Have regular trims.
Any stylist will recommend you visit the salon every six to eight weeks to zap split ends and encourage the hair to feel healthier.

Tip 10: General Tips
  1.  Help your hair to reach its growth potential by eating well and getting lots of sleep
  2. Stress and negative emotions can play a part in hair loss.
  3. Deep cleanse your tresses weekly to remove any product build-up and revitalize your color.

It is recommended by the dermatologists to use Sun screens to effectively protect the skin against these hazardous effects. If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose.

Tip 6: Keep stress in check.
Keep stress in check. Because stress can lead to eczema flares, try activities like yoga or walking after a long day to keep your stress levels low.

Tip 7: Drink enough water.
Drink at least 15-20 glasses of water to keep yourself hydrated. Other than providing the necessary moisture, it will help flush the toxic content. Juice extracted from cucumber or watermelon may be similarly used for moisturizing facial skin.

Tip 8: Avoid detergent soap and chemical peels.
As far as cleansing of face is concerned, detergent based bar soap should be strictly avoided. It is better to avoid the use of chemical peels, except under the due supervision of medical practitioners or specialists dealing particularly with it.

Tip 9: Avoid Smoking and drinking.
Studies have shown that smoking is associated with premature wrinkling. “Smoking, cigars, black tea, and drinking, particularly red wine and coffee, can stain your skin and affect how old you look.

Tip 10: Give Products Time to Work.
Changing your products every couple of weeks can also be counterproductive. Finish the entire tube or bottle of a skincare potion before you decide how well it works. The exception: If your skin reacts with swelling, redness, or burning to a new product you’ve tried, stop using it immediately.

Dental Care Tips

Dental Care Tips
Tip 1: Brush your teeth at least twice
Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride-containing toothpaste. Preferably, brush after each meal and especially before going to bed

Tip 2: Giving Plaque the Brush-Off
To prevent cavities, you need to remove plaque, the transparent layer of bacteria that coats the teeth. Flossing is important thing that you can do to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Tip 3: Use toothpaste that contains fluoride
Toothpastes contain abrasives, detergents, and foaming agents. Fluoride, the most common active ingredient in toothpaste, is what prevents cavities.

Tip 4: Choose a right toothbrush.
Choose a toothbrush with soft, rounded bristles. Or try a rotation oscillation electric brush (check the label); research shows that these reduce plaque and gum inflammation better than manual types.

Tip 5: Visit your dentist regularly.
Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exam (typically once every 3 months). Call your dentist if you feel even a slight twinge. It may take an x-ray to pinpoint the crack, which can be smoothed or filled. Larger breaks often require a full crown or cap.

Tip 6: Floss your teeth
Floss your teeth daily and after any food that will stick in your teeth (i.e. corn on the cob, caramel, peanut butter, etc.). This cleans the other sides of your teeth that you couldn’t reach with your toothbrush.

Tip 7: Use a tongue scraper
A tongue scraper is an important part of oral hygiene that will also work wonders with stale, smelly breath. Use it to remove the plaque on your tongue, which will freshen breath and presumably slow down the accumulation of plaque on your teeth. Alternatively, you can use your toothbrush to clean your tongue.

Tip 8: Avoid Smoking and drinking
Smoking, cigars, black tea, and drinking, particularly red wine and coffee, can stain your teeth and affect how old you look.

Otherwise, you’re just transferring bacteria to your mouth. the best way to brush is by placing your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle against your gums and gently moving it in a circular motion, rather than a back-and-forth motion. Grip the toothbrush like a pencil so you won’t scrub too hard.

Tip 10: Eat ‘detergent’ foods
Foods that are firm or crisp help clean teeth as they’re eaten. We already mentioned apples (otherwise known as nature’s toothbrush); other choices include raw carrots, celery, and popcorn. For best results, make ‘detergent’ foods the final food you eat in your meal if you know you won’t be able to brush your teeth right after eating.
