Healthy hair tips

Tip 1: A well-balanced diet:
A well-balanced diet is the best way to keep your hair healthy and strong. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, nuts, brown rice, beans and pulses, and you’ll have tresses in top condition in no time.

Tip 2: Look After Your Hair.
Don't brush your hair when it is sopping wet, it's more likely to break and result in split ends. Don't use elastic bands or very tight hair bands when you put your hair up (clips and grips are less likely to split the hair shaft) and avoid completely drying your hair when using a hair dryer. Try and leave your hair slightly damp.

Tip 3: Find a shampoo that lathers less.
Shampoos that lather too much are often overloaded with moisturizing products, which can leave build-up in your hair, making it look and feel dirtier quicker. So opt for a sulfate-free formula.

Tip 4: Drop the towel.
Keeping wet strands wrapped in a towel for a half-hour as you do your make-up will just cause frizz! The roughness of the cotton forces your hair cuticles open, making them more likely to go every-which-way. Instead, squeeze out excess water as soon as you’re out of the shower, then let your hair air-dry for five or ten minutes before blow-drying

Tip 5: Shield your locks from harsh shower water
The water you wash your hair with may contain chlorine, minerals; even rust from old pipes, all these things can enter the cuticle of your hair and alter your hair color.

Tip 6: Avoid smoking.
Eliminate smoking, caffeine and fizzy drinks from your life – it will make your hair grow stronger and longer.

Tip 7. Use household ingredients
  1. Mix one egg with a small amount of shampoo, apply to your hair for five minutes, and rinse well. This “shampoo omelet” helps to enhance the protein in your hair.
  2.  Mix 2 ounces olive oil and 2 ounces aloe vera gel with 6 drops each of rosemary and sandalwood essential oils. Olive oil is an emollient, aloe hydrates, and rosemary adds body and softness.
  3. Substitute condensed milk for your regular conditioner. The protein provides an extra-special shine.
  4. For soft, natural highlights squeeze some lemon juice on your hair before heading into the sun.
  5. Bathe your hair in botanical oils.
  6. Mix a few drops of sandalwood oil.

Tip 8: Wrap—don’t clamp—your hair for quick curls.
Wrap—don’t clamp—your hair for quick curls. When using a curling iron, you don’t need to fasten your locks to the barrel. Wrap sections around the iron and hold in place for about 10 seconds to score the same soft, sexy curl

Tip 9: Have regular trims.
Any stylist will recommend you visit the salon every six to eight weeks to zap split ends and encourage the hair to feel healthier.

Tip 10: General Tips
  1.  Help your hair to reach its growth potential by eating well and getting lots of sleep
  2. Stress and negative emotions can play a part in hair loss.
  3. Deep cleanse your tresses weekly to remove any product build-up and revitalize your color.
